♫♫ And I just can’t hide it…I’m about to lose control and I think I like it..♫♫
Now that will be stuck in your head all day long (insert evil maniacal laughter here).
Another reason I am so excited? Remember that HUGE snowstorm that I wouldn’t shut up about a couple weeks ago? Well, the snow caused the roof of Joann’s to collapse, leaving me craft store-less (and sad). On Saturday, I got a flyer in the mail from Joann’s (thanks, marketing geniuses, for rubbing salt in the wound), and the Singer sewing machine that I wanted is on sale!!! I ordered it online last night, and am patiently (if by patiently, you mean incredibly impatiently…and I do) awaiting its arrival…in 2-3 LONG weeks. *sigh*
I was all set to blog about a new handbag that I made, but I am planning on making a couple more for my soon-to-open etsy shop (shameless self promotion alert) so I decided to save that for a big reveal to come later this week. (Or as soon as my sister finishes designing a logo for my as-yet-unnamed shop. Click here to help Litte Ms. Indecicive (me) pick a shop name.) (More evil maniacal laughter as I dangle the proverbial carrot in front of your nose.)
I spent all afternoon yesterday bonding with my couch. (We needed some quality alone time. It’s been a while.) And I finished the last 200 (of 250) pages of Whip It. When I was done, I realized I haven’t posted a book review in a while, and I have finished two books since the last review. (*putting on the hood of shame*) But, I just don’t have it in me to do justice to the last two great books I’ve read. Check back soon for my reviews of Speak (the book and the movie) and Whip It (the book and the movie).
Instead I am just going to tantalize you with my humus and veggie bowl addiction. Nothing says comfort food like a huge bowl of vegetables smothered in creamy goodness (why does that sound so dirty?).
Avocado Hummus (hummus made with avocado instead of oil) on top of a boat-load of vegetables.
Hummus with salsa (my favorite combo) on roasted kabocha and portabellos. (Ubiquitous kale chips lingering in the background, obvioulsy.)
And I leave you with the most awesome nightitme snack, developed by fellow weird-food lover and creator extraordinaire (and my culinary hero of the moment), Ms. Heather.
For two days straight, I woke up and did the 20-minute yoga sculpt class from yogadownloads.com, and damn. ‘Nuff said.
